Suspected cultists behead man in Edo

A yet to be iden­tified young man was yes­terday behead­ed by suspected cultists in Benin City, the Edo state capital.
This heightened fear and tension among resi­dents around First East Circular Road Junction along Sokponba Road as they woke up to find the lifeless body.
 
The victim appeared to have been dragged along the road before he was beheaded as there were bruises and cuts all over his body.
Residents who gath­ered to catch a glimpse of the incident said they didn’t know the victim and described the act as barbaric.
 
The AUTHORITY re­calls that in the past two weeks, no fewer than 5 persons have been killed in a renewed cult war while the Edo State Po­lice has in the last one month arrested over 22 suspected cultists in connection with several cult killings.
Policemen from Ade­suwa Police Division came to remove the body but declined com­ments.

EFCC recovers more vehicles, others from ex-Customs boss Abdullahi Dikko Inde Barely six days after 17 “exotic” vehicles were recovered from a Kaduna warehouse belonging to former Comptroller-General of Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) Abdullahi Dikko Inde, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), another set of items including vehicles, tricycles and motorcycles, have been seized.   The items, which were recovered on Monday and Tuesday from another warehouse said to be the property of the former Customs boss include a 2013 model 32-seater Nissan bus, 42 cargo tricycles, one tipper truck, 16 motorcycles, over 500 rug carpets and two fire-proof safes.   Zonal Head, EFCC in Kaduna, Bappa Ibrahim said yesterday that the recovery was made following tip-off .
