2 suspects face murder charge over poisoning of N.Korean president’s brother

Two women accused of killing Kim Jong Nam, the estranged half-brother of North Korean President Kim Jong Un will face murder charges for administering a nerve agent on their victim while at the Kuala Lumpur airport terminal.
Police allege the women smeared VX nerve agent – a chemical on a UN list of weapons of mass destruction – on Kim Jong-nam’s face in an assault recorded on airport security cameras on February 13.
Attorney General Mohamed Apandi Ali said the suspects, identified as Indonesian Siti Aisyah and Vietnamese Doan Thi Huong will be charged on Wednesday and face a mandatory death sentence if convicted.

“They will be charged in court under Section 302 [murder] of the penal code,” Mohamed said.
Malaysian police have identified a total of eight North Koreans as suspects or as wanted for questioning, including a North Korean embassy official believed to still be in Kuala Lumpur.
The revelation came after Malaysia’s health minister Subramaniam Sathasivam revealed that the dose of nerve agent given to Kim was so high that it killed him within 20 minutes and caused “very serious paralysis.”
Sathasivam said the dose of VX given to Kim was on the high side as he showed symptoms within minutes. He said Kim fainted at the airport clinic and died in the ambulance while en route to a hospital.
