Osinbajo summons IG over kidnap of 2 German archeologists
The acting president of
Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has summoned the Inspector-General of
Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, over the abduction of two German
archaeologists, Prof Peter Breunig and Mr Johannes Behringer in Kadarko
local government area of Kaduna state.
The
News Agency of Nigeria reports that Idris briefed the acting president
about the development and the efforts his men are making to rescue the
victims as well as arrest the abductors.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a team of special police forces and police investigators have been deployed to Kaduna state to ensure the rescue of the victims.
It
was learnt that the kidnapped archaeologists, working in collaboration
with National Commission for Museum and Monument on the relics of NOK
Culture in Nigeria, were kidnapped in the morning of Wednesday, February
23.
