7 Facts About the Mandyeng Festival Celebrated Among the Berom People of Plateaustate

Mangyeng Festival is popularly know among the Berom People of Jos south, Riyom, Barkin Ladi, Jos North local goverment of Plateau State.

The festival is celebrated every beginning of raining season every year to usher in the season of farming through prayers and thanksgiving.

The Berom people only trust in God for this season in order to have a bountiful harvest throughout the raining season, that is they do not believe in any other superstitious god.

The festival is featured with activities such as; prayers, traditional dance, warriors display, wearing of traditional attires, dancing competition, eating of traditional foods among the rest.

People From Far and Near Traveled Home to Celebrate the Festival; The illustrious sons and daughters of the land traveled home to witness this grate and epoch making event. This festival serve different possess to people. Is an avenue for unity and people uniting with there friends and families. Coming together under one umbrella of Love.

Both the young, the aged, Children come together to celebrate the festival; Children are not left not left behind to celebrate this festival. As you can see the young boy in the picture below blowing a traditional trumpet. Children are grate blessings to the Berom nation because they are being trained from the initial stage to do things for themselves.


No Worship of any Traditional gods or any form of Incantations are Made; The Berom people are religious people and do not believe in any other gods. Reverend fathers and Pastors gathered to pray for the land for bountiful harvest.
